Summer Intensive Course

This course is intended for those who wish to study during the summer holidays. It is an intensive class that meets 21 lessons per week from Monday to Friday.
During the period, extracurricular classes will be held to experience traditional Japanese culture such as tea ceremony, calligraphy, and Japanese cuisine.
Student visa is not available for this short time study. Please enter Japan on visas such as Temporary Visitor visa (Tourist visa).

Summer Intensive Course

The Summer Intensive Course at our school is designed for students who sincerely wish to understand Japan and cultivate useful Japanese. We have established programs conducted outside of the school that are designed so the students can confirm and stabilize the results of studies conducted in the classroom. Further, the things the students learn outside of the classroom are incorporated in the following classroom studies. This kind of Japanese language study can only be conducted in Japan, and the experience programs have a multifarious content, including observation tours, Japanese culture experience programs, and exchange programs with Japanese university students, etc. This study program can only be found in Kyoto.

Short Term Course

It is open to everyone regardless of age or purpose, such as those who want to learn Japanese necessary for living in Japan, those who want to improve Japanese skills for acquiring qualifications, those who want to study Japanese together with tourism etc.
The course is available to attend for 2-10 weeks.There are classes 5 days a week from Monday to Friday including weekly extra-curricular activities.

Japanese Summer Course: What so you think of a short-term exchange program in the center of culture?
During the morning study, and in the afternoon/evening,
use your newly learned language skills by exploring Kyoto.
There are also exchange programs for those who wish to participate. (Participation in this is optional.)

Short-term Course

We’ll introduce the class for various aims such as wanting to have conversations in Japanese, needing to speak Japanese in daily life, and being interested in Japanese traditional culture. In this academic year, you’ll join the class of the long-term course. Please ask us at any time.
Japan International Language Academy is a 10 minutes walk from the central Kyoto “Shijo-Karasuma.” It has good accessibility to Osaka and various sightseeing spots.

Study in Kansai Program (SKP)

The Study in Kansai Program (SKP) is Ritsumeikan University’s non-degree study abroad program for 1 semester or 2 semesters. The program brings together students from around the world at RU’s campuses in Kyoto, Osaka, and Shiga Prefectures.
